Role Overview: At BMC, we are looking for an Innovation Catalyst who is motivated and inspired by innovation and ready to join a company that puts technology at the forefront of business transformation. As an Innovation Catalyst, you will have a unique ability to identify, initiate, and implement meaningful change, helping customers make incredible things happen with technology. You will play a crucial role in leading the development of core features and modules for the Helix ITSM/ITOM platform, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence, and driving innovation through R&D to enhance AI-driven capabilities. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the development of core features and modules for the Helix ITSM/ITOM platform. - Architect, design, and implement microservices using modern frameworks and technologies like Java, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, and RESTful APIs. - Ensure high-quality code by adhering to best practices and industry standards. - Collaborate with Product Managers to understand requirements and align technical solutions with business goals. - Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence. - Work closely with Quality Engineers to define robust testing strategies, including automated and performance testing. - Drive innovation through R&D, focusing on enhancing AI-driven capabilities in areas like predictive analytics and automation. - Analyze and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring scalability and performance of the product. - Collaborate with DevSecOps teams to ensure seamless CI/CD pipelines and maintain product security standards. - Participate in product deployment, upgrade, and security processes, ensuring compliance with industry regulations. - Incorporate user feedback into product enhancements, ensuring alignment with customer needs and market trends. - Act as a technical liaison for key customers during critical escalations. Qualifications Required: - Bachelors or masters degree in computer science/IT, Engineering, or related field. - 10+ years in software development, with at least 2+ years as Technical Lead or equivalent. - Proficient in Java (11+), Spring Boot, RESTful API development, and Microservices architecture. - Experience in designing and developing complex framework and platform solutions with practical use of design patterns. - Expertise with unit/integration testing, test driven development, and related modern best practices/technologies. - Experience with open-source Java frameworks such as OSGI, Spring, Hibernate, Maven, JSecurity, JMS, JPA, JTA, JDBC. - Experience with server-side issues such as caching, clustering, persistence, security, SSO, state management, high scalability/availability, and failover. - Experience implementing Business Process Management software and integrating complex enterprise systems. - Experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MS-SQL databases and Aspect oriented architectures. - Good understanding of web services and SOA standards like REST, SOAP, XML, etc. - Good understanding of microservices architecture, including Kubernetes, Docker, and Kafka. - Excellent communication skills: demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Strong decision-making skills, take-charge personality, and the ability to drive a plan to completion. - Hands-on experience with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes and Docker. - Knowledge of DevSecOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, Terraform, Helm, Ansible) and security practices. - Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and SaaS environments. - Strong communication and leadership abilities. - Problem-solving mindset with a customer-first approach. - Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. - Any experience in implementing AI\ML, Gen AI in enterprise applications is a huge plus. (Note: The above qualifications are required for the role, while any experience in ITIL/ITSM processes and tools would be considered a nice-to-have skill.)
