About the Role

Digital Transformation Lead

Key Responsibilities

1. Automation Requirement Gathering & Solutioning

• Interface with Transport NOC teams (optical, IP, microwave, backbone transport).
• Identify operational pain points and automation opportunities across fault management, performance monitoring, provisioning, and root cause analysis.
• Prepare

  solution documents, high-level designs, and process workflows

  .
• Collaborate with internal

  AI, automation, and platform development teams

  for solution implementation.

2. Autonomous Operations Roadmap (Aligned to TM Forum AN Maturity)

• Define the vision and roadmap for progressing Transport NOC towards higher

  Autonomous Network maturity levels

  .
• Identify key automation enablers such as

  closed-loop assurance, AI/ML-based fault prediction, intent-driven automation, and zero-touch provisioning

  .
• Drive transformation initiatives to achieve proactive, predictive, and autonomous transport operations.

3. Platform Modernization Strategy

• Partner with vendors and internal teams to evaluate next-generation platforms (orchestration layers, observability tools etc).
• Assess Transport platforms (e.g., EMS/NMS, OSS, provisioning systems) modernization and alignment with Digital strategy.
• Define migration strategy towards

  cloud-native, API-first, and AI-ready platforms

Required Skill Set

Technical & Domain Expertise

• In-depth knowledge of

  transport networks

  (Optical/DWDM, IP/MPLS, Microwave, Ethernet, SDN/NFV).
• Understanding of

  transport NOC processes

  – fault, performance, provisioning, service assurance.
• Hands-on knowledge of

  automation/orchestration tools

  (e.g., Ansible, Python, ServiceNow, Netconf/YANG, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Familiarity with

  TM Forum Autonomous Network maturity framework

  and

  OSS/BSS integration

  .
• Exposure to

  cloud migration and platform modernization

  (microservices, APIs, containerization).

Business & Solutioning Skills

• Strong skills in

  requirement gathering, business process analysis, and solution documentation

  .
• Ability to create

  strategic roadmaps

  for autonomous operations and platform modernization.
• Experience in evaluating and working with vendor ecosystems (e.g., Nokia, Cisco, Huawei, Ciena, Juniper, Netcracker).

Soft Skills

• Excellent stakeholder management – ability to work with Transport NOC, leadership, and development teams.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with ability to

  influence digital adoption

• Analytical mindset with problem-solving orientation.
• Ability to work in cross-functional, multi-vendor, and fast-paced environments.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in

  Electronics/Telecom/Computer Science Engineering

  .
• 8–12 years of experience in

  Transport network operations, automation, or digital transformation

  .
• Prior experience in

  solution architecture, NOC transformation, or platform strategy

  is highly desirable.
• Exposure to

  OSS modernization or SDN/NFV implementation projects

  will be an advantage.
