Role & responsibilities

1 Procurement of Equipments

(AMC/CMC)

• Raising PR for equipments as per requirement
• At the time of AMC machine breakdown, follow up with AMC company for repairs
• Follow up with vendors as and when required and their closings
• Follow up with purchase department after raising PR requirement for its procurement and delivery

2 Maintenance of Machines

• Making efforts to lower the down time of machines.
• Addressing the break down immediately.
• Deciding upon the yearly biomedical budget
• Preventive maintenance of all working equipments as per schedule
• Daily round of all floors and departments (OT, ICU, Pathology etc)
• Checking of equipments on each floor
• Handling vacuum pump, air compressor- changing over daily and maintaining the same
• Repairing the equipments at the time of breakdown
• Getting the calibration of equipments done every year
• Getting the quality assurance done of radiology equipments
• Keeping a check of AMC/CMC contracts and their renewals
• Checking of oxygen and equipments in the van for ICU on wheels everyday in the morning

3 Data Maintenance

• Maintaining medical records : Daily maintenance of biomedical log, gas record, Daily Round Report, Preventive Maintenance Report, Calibration Report, Daily Oxygen Consumption Report, Breakdown File Report etc
• Keeping records of all processes related to quality and repairs getting done outside the hospital premises
• Responsible for daily reporting to unit head and corporate functional head in the format circulated by Corporate.

4 Department Related

• Imparting biomedical training to nursing and hospital staff
• Attending weekly meetings with the HOD
• Preparing the quality indicators and submitting to the quality department on a monthly basis
• Preparation of departmental review
• Attending to all calls from various departments and resolving their queries
• Imparting training to new staff and trainees
• Attending to all on-call emergencies and during night
