Role Overview

Lead - New Product Development (NPD)

This leader will focus on products related to

• New innovative solar technologies like Tandem junction solar modules and likes.
• Balance of System (BOS) components including but not limited to On-Grid / Hybrid Inverters, BESS, EV Chargers, Residential Kits and items covered in company strategy)

Key Responsibilities

A. Strategic Responsibilities

• Establish process and procedure for introducing and launching new products
• Build a

  product roadmap

  aligned to companys long-term vertical integration strategy.
• Conduct

  market research, technology benchmarking & competitive analysis

  for existing and new products to be launched.
• Identify opportunities to reduce

  dependency on imports

  by developing local backward integration capabilities.

B. New Product Development

• Drive end-to-end NPD cycle: Ideation Feasibility Design Prototyping Validation Scale-up Commercial Launch.

C. Technical Evaluation & Feasibility

• Conduct

  technical, financial & supply chain feasibility studies

  for new products.
• Collaborate with machinery vendors for equipment assessment required for manufacturing / backward integration.
• Prepare technical specifications, BOMs, test plans, and process flow diagrams for new products.

D. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Procurement, SCM, Finance, and EHS teams.
• Work closely with external

  research labs, testing agencies (UL, IEC, TUV), and raw material suppliers

  .
• Work with marketing & sales to identify customer needs and define product specifications.

E. Testing, Quality & Certification

• Define testing requirements for new products (reliability, accelerated aging, IEC compliance).
• Oversee pilot trials and validation runs.
• Ensure documentation as per ISO, IEC, and other applicable guidelines.

F. Project Management

• Lead multiple NPD projects simultaneously with clear timelines and KPIs.
• Prepare project plans, capital requirement estimates, and ROI models.
• Ensure successful transition from development to full-scale manufacturing.

*Candidate must be from Solar Mfg. / Renewables backgrounds.
