Operational Responsibilities

  • Learning Needs Identification & Planning

Conduct comprehensive training needs analysis (TNA) through performance data, manager feedback, and plant-level inputs.

Align capability-building priorities with business goals and workforce planning requirements.

Develop annual learning calendars covering technical, functional, and behavioral training needs.

Map mandatory, role-specific, and compliance training across employee levels and functions.

  • Program Design & Execution

Design and implement learning programs for all employee segments managerial, supervisory, and shop-floor.

Introduce blended learning approaches integrating classroom, on-the-job, and digital learning.

Coordinate with internal trainers, SMEs, and external partners for program delivery.

  • Learning Evaluation & Continuous Improvement

Implement post-training evaluation mechanisms using relevant frameworks.

Track learning outcomes, behavior changes, and business impact through data analytics.

Gather participant and manager feedback to enhance content relevance and delivery effectiveness.

Institutionalize a feedback loop to update learning programs and address emerging capability gaps.

Organisational Responsibilities

  • Learning Strategy & Framework Development

Develop a structured learning and capability development framework aligned with organizational strategy.

Build leadership development pathways for critical roles and succession pipelines.

Institutionalize technical capability-building programs to support manufacturing excellence and safety standards.

Align learning interventions with organizational values, culture, and competency framework.

  • Policy, Systems & Governance

Support the OD team for developing L&D policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) ensuring consistency across plants.

Implement and maintain a Learning Management System (LMS) for tracking training delivery and compliance.

Ensure adherence to statutory and audit requirements related to training documentation.

Maintain comprehensive MIS and dashboards on training coverage, hours, and impact metrics.

  • Digital Learning & Innovation

Champion the adoption of e-learning, microlearning, and other digital learning tools.

Curate and manage digital learning content repositories and vendor-led learning libraries.

Explore partnerships with industry bodies and institutions for certification and skilling programs.

Foster a learning culture through communication campaigns, recognition of learners, and manager engagement.

  • Leadership Development & Talent Pipeline

Design and implement leadership development programs for emerging and mid-level leaders.

Support succession planning efforts through targeted learning journeys.

Integrate leadership competency models into the development process.

Facilitate executive coaching or mentoring programs as part of career development initiatives.

  • Team Development & Capability Building

Coach and mentor L&D team members to strengthen their functional expertise.

Promote professional certification and continuous learning within the HR function.

Create a collaborative and innovative work environment fostering experimentation in learning approaches.

Qualification & Experience

  • Postgraduate in Human Resources / Organizational Psychology / Training & Development / Business Administration.
  • 1216 years of relevant experience in L&D within a manufacturing or industrial setup.
  • Strong understanding of technical, behavioral, and leadership development frameworks.
  • Experience in developing and executing large-scale learning interventions across multi-location operations.
  • Proven track record in managing learning budgets, external vendors, and digital learning platforms.
  • Exposure to competency mapping, succession planning, and capability analytics.
