Job Description

Role & responsibilities

HR Operations & Payroll

  • Oversee end-to-end HR operations including payroll, benefits administration, HRIS, employee lifecycle management, and service delivery.
  • Manage the entire employee lifecycle from onboarding, confirmation, transfers, promotions, exits, and offboarding.
  • Ensure robust background verification (BGV) processes for new hires and periodic checks for sensitive roles.
  • Drive process optimization and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
  • Ensure accurate and timely execution of HR transactions and reporting.
  • Lead vendor management for HR-related services and platforms.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees ensuring compliance with statutory guidelines.
  • Drive HR operations for the organization, ensuring a smooth and efficient service that meets the needs of the business.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.
  • Nurture a positive working environment by maintaining a keen understanding of overall morale and promoting a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
  • ESOP computation and implementation.
  • Front-ending any regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring the implementation of all HR policies and processes.
  • Managing incentive calculations and bonuses.

Ensure payroll-related tax deductions, filings, and reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.

HR Compliance

  • Manage all HR compliance matters across geographies.
  • Develop and maintain HR compliance policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits of HR processes and documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to employment laws, labor codes, and statutory obligations.
  • Investigate and resolve compliance-related complaints or violations.
  • Maintain records of compliance activities and reporting.
  • Collaborate with legal and risk teams on regulatory updates.
  • Ensure data privacy and protection compliance in HR systems and processes.

Governance

  • Establish and maintain HR governance frameworks, policies, and SOPs.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies across business units.
  • Lead internal controls and risk management initiatives within HR.
  • Monitor policy adherence and escalate deviations appropriately.
  • Collaborate with internal audit, legal, and finance teams to ensure governance maturity.
  • Promote ethical conduct and integrity in all HR practices.
  • Drive transparency and accountability in HR decision-making and documentation.

Performance Management

  • Manage performance cycles (goal setting, reviews, calibrations).
  • Support managers with feedback and coaching tools.
  • Track completion rates and analyze performance data.

Improve systems and ensure process consistency.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelor's degree in business, HR, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in compensation, benefits, compliance, and HR analytics.
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in data visualization tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance standards in the insurance sector.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Incentive design, market benchmarking, ESOPs, C&B compliance.
  • HR Operations & Payroll: Payroll accuracy, HRIS, policy implementation, grievance handling.
  • Compliance & Governance: Labor law adherence, audits, regulatory reporting, risk collaboration.

Performance Management: Goal setting, review cycles, calibration, data-driven insights.
