Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Migration Specialist with a strong focus on MySQL and secondary expertise in PostgreSQL and SQL Server
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in migrating databases to Azure cloud environments
This role involves designing, implementing, and managing database solutions, ensuring seamless migration, optimization, and performance tuning
ResponsibilitiesLead and execute database migration projects from on premises to Azure cloud
Design and implement database solutions using MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server
Optimize and tune database performance for MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server databases
Ensure data integrity, security, and availability throughout the migration process
Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical expertise
Develop and maintain migration plans, documentation, and best practices
Monitor and troubleshoot database issues in Azure cloud environments
Provide support and guidance to development teams on database related matters

Mandatory Skills

Extensive professional experience using MySQL (primary skill)
Strong understanding of cross platform DB migration processes and tools
Experience with the integration of databases into Azure IaaS cloud environments
Proficiency in performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting for MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server
Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail
Strong collaboration skills

Preferred Skills

Enterprise level project experience
Hands on experience with Azure IaaS services and tools
Knowledge of other cloud platforms such as Google Cloud
Certifications in Azure or database management
QualificationsBachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
7 10 years of relevant experience in database administration and migration
