Lead DBA

SUMMARY: Oracle Apps DBA with 6 to 8 years of experience to provide L2 and L3 support to Production environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 6 + years of Oracle Apps DBA experience with hands on R12.2 experience desirable. Performing database administration and performance tuning activities. ADOP Patching/Cloning experience. Collaboration with Application Development teams to support Oracle Application on R12 Performing capacity monitoring and short and long term capacity planning in collaboration with developers. Proposing solutions identifying tools and generating procedures to ensure an efficient consistent repeatable environment. Good exposure on RMAN, ASM, Dataguard, AD, Datapump Utilities. Good exposure on Shell scripting, DB & apps performance analysis. Experience in Apps and DB upgrade Experience with performance tuning capacity planning disaster recovery planning and testing Experience with Fusion Middleware 11g AS10gR3 AS10gR2 OEM and/or RAC desired Proven ability to work through SRs with Oracle Corporation technical support Should Demonstrate diagnostic skills. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree /Masters Degree 6 10 years of relevant experience of Oracle Apps DBA experience. Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) will be added advantage Exadata and Cloud knowledge will be a boon. SOFT SKILLS Excellent written and verbal communication skills Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines Self motivated, able to work in a team and independently To implement, maintain and design database and install new systems and enhancements. Plan execution of backup, recovery and other housekeeping scripts to ensure regular maintenance and availability of databases as per corporate standards. Help validate and fine tune the capacity planning. Lead the designing of databases for software applications by guiding team on latest features provided by the DBMS for administration, performance and specialized features (e.g., data warehousing features, real application clusters, data guard, advanced replication). Handle L3 tickets (e.g. critical production issues). Ensure development of efficient database queries, and also that database refresh and cloning activities are carried out periodically. Set database parameters for better performance. Carry out periodic audit activities and ensure basic controls are maintained to enable database security, compliance with change management and other corporate policies. Suggest database level changes by analyzing the database reports. Help in preparing reports for management review meetings. Guide junior resources in carrying out activities.
