Employment Type: Full-time Reporting to: General Manager – Digital Initiatives Dotted-line Reporting To: VP – Marketing & Growth Job Description & Summary: We are looking for a Clinical Content Writer with a strong background in optometry or eye care to create high-quality, accurate, and engaging clinical content. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of eye health, diagnostic procedures, treatment options, and the patient care journey. Optometrists or candidates with clinical experience in eye care will be given preference. Key Responsibilities: Content development: develop, write, and edit clinical content related to eye care for various formats, including but not limited to website blogs, web pages, guest blogging/ articles, educational materials, patient guides, social media, brochures, pamphlets, posts & responses in forums, community health groups, scripts for videos, reels and FAQs, etc. Quality assurance: ensure all content is plagiarism free, scientifically accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with evidence-based practices. Translate complex medical information into clear, accessible, and patient-friendly language without compromising accuracy. Cross-functional Collaboration: work closely with ophthalmologists/ doctors, optometrists, and other clinical teams to ensure content accuracy, completeness, consistency and credibility. Assist in the creation of scripts for videos, webinars, or digital campaigns targeting both patients and professionals. Optimize content for SEO, digital performance, and user engagement. Stay updated on the latest advancements in optometry, ophthalmology, and eye care research. Regulatory Compliance: ensure all clinical content complies with applicable medical standards, regulatory requirements, and ethical guidelines. Ensure content meets branding, and editorial standards. Calendar Planning - develop and manage a monthly social media content calendar focused on patient education, awareness days, hospital updates, and curative and preventive eye care. Content Review & Optimization - audit existing content to ensure accuracy and clinical correctness, updated facts and consistent tone and plagiarism-free writing Guest Content Partnerships - Identify and engage prominent external writers, optometrists, or medical communicators for guest blogs, articles, and co-authored content. Pitch and develop collaborative content pieces. Prepare PR-friendly content packs that can be used by media partners, bloggers, or influencers. KOL (Key Opinion Leader) Engagement: collaborate with internal KOLs (optometrists, ophthalmologists, researchers, board members) to endorse or contribute to clinical content. Facilitate interviews, webinars, podcast episodes, etc. Craft and drive the strategy for content syndication, guest posting, and earned media contributions to reputable health/medical publications (e.g., Healthline, WebMD, niche optometry journals). Preferred Qualifications Degree in Optometry, Life Sciences, Journalism, or Communications (Optometrists with writing experience will be strongly preferred). 3–5 years of content writing experience in healthcare, wellness, or patient education domains. Strong understanding of SEO writing practices and content optimization techniques. Strong command over written English with the ability to adapt tone and complexity based on the target audience. Native or fluent Hindi speakers/ writers with the ability to create content for bilingual audiences (Hindi and English) will be given preference. Excellent collaboration and communication skills; ability to work with medical and marketing teams effectively. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Proven experience developing content across long- and short-form formats (blogs, scripts, guides, posts, etc).
