The Global Markets (GM) business of BNP Paribas helps its Corporate and Institutional clients leverage capital markets across the globe for their financing, risk management and investment needs. This encompasses a wide range of financial products ranging from foreign exchange to complex Equity Derivatives that are traded in financial markets across the globe 24/7.

IT systems are integral to the business and are a key part of the value proposition to clients. These IT systems range from industry standard products for standard process automation to internally developed, often, market leading IT applications.

The IT teams owning these IT systems are made up of functions that include Technical and Application production support, Business Analysis Project Management, Development Maintenance and Quality Control. BNP Paribas India Solutions is an equal partner in these IT functions along with colleagues in other locations including Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, Singapore Hong Kong. This partnership ranges from sharing the IT workload, executing global strategy to owning global applications offshore. The technology and engineering landscape is wide, encompassing almost all techniques and platforms. It continues to evolve and transform with the market with the business continuing to invest in it.

Position Purpose:

The Lead Business Analyst, Global Market OTC Derivative will be a key contributor to the firms strategic initiatives, acting as a liaison between front-office trades, operations, risk management, and technology teams. This role requires a deep, end-to-end understanding of the OTC derivatives trade lifecycle, from execution and trade capture to settlement, valuation, and regulatory reporting. The successful candidate will lead the analysis and delivery of complex IT solutions and process improvements that support and enhance the global OTC trading desk.

These applications are manned by a team of Business Analysts, Developers and Testers, spread across London, Paris, Singapore and India, with program management in London. The team is made of very senior technicians and analysts globally, who create tools and support the functional application teams by being leaders on matters of technology.

Agile Scrum methodology has followed as SDLC. The position will be working as a part of the scrum taking on roles of Business analyst or Scrum master as required.

  • Working experience in Financial Markets Trading Platforms (OTC derivative products predominantly Interest Rate Derivatives), Trade Life Cycle and familiarity with underlying data.
  • Understanding of Front Office/Middle Office/ Back-office functions.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills - Understand and efficiently analyze information/requirements from multiple sources.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in project management, team coordination, and driving strategic change.
  • Experience in writing BRDs and FSDs.
  • Very Good knowledge of RDBMS / SQL.
  • Possess the ability to explain and articulate solutions and work constructively with others including more senior and junior members in the team to implement the same.
  • Good to have experience of IBM MQ.
  • Demonstrate the ability to show initiative and take the lead solving business focused analytics problems.
  • Have a can do attitude that focuses on resolving the overall problem in the medium and long term as well as meeting the short-term objectives.
  • Willingness and ability to put effort even when not explicitly requested to do so.

Specific Qualifications:

  • 12 to 15 years of experience as a Business Analyst in capital markets, with extensive hands-on experience in OTC derivative.
  • Deep knowledge of OTC derivative products across multiple asset classes, including LMB, equity, rates, and credit derivatives.
  • Significant experience with core OTC derivative systems and platforms (e.g. Calypso, Murex, vendor systems) and tools for confirmation (e.g. Markitwire, DTCC).
  • Strong IRD knowledge.
  • Skills Referential (Required knowledge, skills and abilities)

Technical Skills:

    • Very Good knowledge of RDBMS / SQL
    • Experience in writing BRDs and FSDs
    • Good to have experience of IBM MQ
    • Python (good to have)
