Job Description

Purpose/Objective


    Lead - Wind Asset is responsible for managing the commissioning and performance optimization of wind energy assets, overseeing the technical and operational aspects, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities of Role


    Strategic Commissioning Oversight: Ensure the successful commissioning of wind projects across Gujarat (GJ) and Rajasthan (RJ), adhering strictly to engineering specifications, regulatory requirements, and strategic business objectives. Oversee the execution and commissioning of the 33kV line for the SECI-V Project as per management's special assignments, ensuring alignment with overall business strategies. Monitor and gather information related to connectivity, LTA/GNA, and project commissioning for wind energy projects, ensuring up-to-date records and data accuracy. Cost Optimization and Resource Management: Drive cost optimization across various ongoing wind projects, ensuring efficient use of resources while maintaining high performance standards. Oversee manpower planning and resource allocation specifically for transmission and commissioning activities, particularly for critical projects like Khavda Wind Project. Maintain detailed records of inventory and budgets, focusing on maximizing indigenization and efficient cost management. Business Performance and Strategic Alignment: Monitor the performance of wind assets against annual business performance goals, including Plant Load Factor (PLF), Plant Availability (PA), and Grid Availability targets. Lead efforts in aligning commissioning activities with the broader business processes and strategic plans, ensuring seamless integration with business transformation and change management initiatives. Ensure compliance with audit requirements, aiming for '0' repetitive audit observations and timely closure of all audit points, particularly in the MAAS audit. Regulatory Compliance and Safety Leadership: Monitor new regulations, ensuring timely adoption of government portals and compliance tools such as Legatrix, IMS, and 5S systems relevant to wind energy projects. Develop and enforce a strong safety culture at all wind project sites, ensuring 100% compliance with safety protocols and aiming for '0' accidents and Lost Time Injuries (LTIs). Ensure comprehensive EHS compliance, particularly in transmission line work, and maintain rigorous safety standards across all commissioning activities. Technical Support and Optimization: Oversee the commissioning of Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs), ensuring their healthiness for continuous operation and power performance analysis. Provide technical support and training to team members and other OEMs, focusing on the resolution of technical issues, turbine health, and optimization of wind asset performance. Coordinate technical document preparation, RCA/CAPA for technical issues, and support error fault resolution for the turbines. Documentation and Reporting: Ensure thorough documentation and reporting of all project commissioning activities, including first-time charging protocols, inventory management, and performance metrics. Oversee the preparation of reports on wind project progress, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals and compliance with regulatory standards. Training & Development: Lead technical training initiatives for team members, focusing on equipping them to manage wind-specific technical issues, commissioning tasks, and operational procedures effectively. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, ensuring that the team remains updated on evolving technologies and industry best practices. Qualifications and Experience


    Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required. Strong academic foundation in power systems, wind turbine technology, and control systems. Additional certifications in renewable energy would be beneficial. Work Experience: 15+ years of experience in the wind energy sector, with a focus on wind turbine installation, commissioning, and operations. Proven track record in leading commissioning teams, ensuring project timelines, and achieving performance targets. In-depth knowledge of wind turbine technology, grid codes, and safety standards.
