Job Title: Laptop Technician Department: IT / Technical Support Job Location: Dubai, UAE Job Type: Full-Time  Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Laptop Technician to join our IT support team. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with hardware repairs, network configurations, and troubleshooting issues related to laptops and other computing devices. The technician will provide technical support to end-users, maintain system performance, and ensure the smooth operation of hardware and network systems. Key Responsibilities: Laptop Hardware Repairs: Diagnose and repair hardware issues including motherboard, screen, keyboard, battery, and internal components. Replace faulty components such as RAM, hard drives, SSDs, fans, etc. Perform hardware upgrades and system optimizations. Maintain inventory of hardware components and spare parts. Network Troubleshooting: Assist in the configuration and troubleshooting of wired and wireless networks. Resolve network connectivity issues (Wi-Fi, LAN, VPN, etc.). Set up and maintain network configurations, ensuring that devices are connected properly to local and remote networks. Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues including IP conflicts, DNS errors, and network latency. System & Software Troubleshooting: Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows, macOS, and Linux) on laptops. Troubleshoot system crashes, application failures, and software conflicts. Install, update, and configure essential software applications and drivers. Perform routine system checks to ensure system integrity and optimize laptop performance. User Support: Provide timely and professional technical support to end-users, addressing hardware and software issues. Respond to service requests and resolve technical issues, either remotely or on-site. Document common troubleshooting steps and solutions for future reference. Preventative Maintenance: Perform regular preventive maintenance on laptops to prolong their lifespan, including cleaning, diagnostics, and optimization. Ensure that all security software (e.g., anti-virus, firewalls) is up-to-date. Other Duties: Maintain detailed logs of repairs, troubleshooting steps, and parts inventory. Collaborate with other IT staff to support large-scale tech initiatives or new deployments. Provide training and guidance to end-users on proper laptop usage and troubleshooting basic issues. Required Skills & Qualifications: Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred. Minimum of 1-6 years of hands-on experience in laptop hardware repair, troubleshooting, and network support. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of laptop hardware components and repair procedures. Familiarity with network troubleshooting tools and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi configurations). Proficient in supporting operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and software troubleshooting. Ability to perform firmware and BIOS updates. Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
