1. Position Overview

The Labour Officer / Industrial Relations (IR) Officer will be responsible for end-to-end labour management, including recruitment of shop-floor manpower ensuring discipline, handling grievances, implementing statutory compliances, and maintaining a harmonious work environment across weaving, dyeing, printing, finishing, packing, and related production units.


Key Responsibilities

  1. A. Labour Hiring & Deployment

  • Plan and execute

    direct labour recruitment

    for all departments
  • Maintain manpower strength as per production requirements (shift-wise & department-wise).
  • Create and maintain a labour database, attendance, & shift rotation plans.
  • Conduct onboarding, induction, and orientation for all new workers.
  • Ensure timely replacements to avoid production delays.

B. Shop Floor Discipline & IR Management

  • Implement and monitor shop-floor discipline, punctuality, and code of conduct.
  • Manage conflict resolution, handle worker grievances, misconduct cases, and domestic enquiries.
  • Develop and maintain harmonious industrial relations across the plant.
  • Ensure smooth communication between Management, Supervisors, and Workers.
  • Take strong preventive measures to avoid absenteeism, attrition, and behavioural issues.

C. Labour Welfare & Engagement

  • Ensure implementation of welfare schemes, safety standards, and working conditions.
  • Plan employee engagement activities to motivate shop-floor workers.
  • Ensure adherence to workplace hygiene, safety gear usage, and discipline.

D. Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinate closely with HR, Production Heads, and Plant Management.
  • Prepare daily labour availability and absenteeism reports.
  • Provide weekly and monthly IR & manpower analytics to management.
  • Support in policy formulation related to IR & labour management.

Candidate Requirements

  • Graduate / Postgraduate in HR, Labour Welfare, Social Work, or Industrial Relations.
  • Additional certification in Labour Laws preferred.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience

    in labour management or IR roles.
  • Experience in

    textile manufacturing industry

    strongly preferred (weaving, dyeing, printing, processing units).
  • Proven ability to manage large manpower
  • Ability to maintain discipline tactfully and professionally.
  • Crisis management, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong coordination with production teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage shift operations.
