Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled

SQL & Linux Support Engineer

with strong expertise in

SQL queries, Linux/Unix systems, and Shell scripting

. The role involves troubleshooting production issues, optimizing system performance, and supporting critical applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with database queries, system administration, and scripting for automation.

Key Responsibilities

Write, optimize, and execute SQL queries for data analysis, reporting, and issue resolution.
Manage and support applications running on Linux/Unix environments.
Develop and maintain Shell scripts to automate system tasks and processes.
Troubleshoot application, database, and system-related issues in production and non-production environments.
Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and ensure high availability.
Collaborate with developers, DBAs, and support teams for root cause analysis and problem resolution.
Ensure adherence to IT security, compliance, and operational standards.
Document troubleshooting steps, configurations, and solutions for knowledge sharing.

Required Skills

Strong proficiency in SQL queries, joins, stored procedures, and performance tuning
Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix administration and commands
Proficiency in Shell scripting (Bash, Korn, etc.)
Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in production environments
Familiarity with system logs, monitoring tools, and debugging techniques
Ability to work in 24x7 support / rotational shifts if required
