Responsibilities:

• Deploy, configure, and manage Kubernetes clusters tailored for the demanding requirements of 4G and 5G networks, adhering to industry best practices.
• Ensure the stability, performance, and reliability of Kubernetes clusters through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization specific to telecom workloads.
• Investigate and resolve issues related to Kubernetes in a telecom context, including network latency, resource utilization, and service disruptions.
• Implement security measures and maintain compliance with security standards within the Kubernetes environment, ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive telecom data.
• Automate deployment and management tasks using infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible to streamline network function deployments.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and network engineering teams to optimize network function deployments and service delivery on Kubernetes.
• Perform regular upgrades and patching of Kubernetes clusters to ensure they are running the latest stable releases and maintain compatibility with telecom network upgrades.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to incidents related to the Kubernetes infrastructure impacting 4G/5G services.
• Document processes, procedures, and configurations specific to managing Kubernetes for telecom deployments.

Qualifications:

• 7-10 years of experience in system administration, containerization, or cloud computing, with a focus on telecom infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes concepts, architecture, and core components (Pods, Deployments, Services, etc.) in the context of telecom network functions.
• Proven ability to deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized network functions on a Kubernetes platform.
• Experience with container orchestration tools like Docker and Helm.
• In-depth understanding of telecom network architectures (4G, 5G) and network function virtualization (NFV) principles.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS EKS, GCP GKE, Azure AKS) used in telecom deployments a plus.
• Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible) a plus.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana to monitor telecom network performance metrics a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a focus on telecom network issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• A passion for learning and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in Kubernetes and telecom technologies.

Bonus points for:

• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for deploying network functions
• Experience with container networking technologies like CNI (Container Network Interface) plugins used in telecom deployments
