Job Title: Key Account Manager

Department: Sales / Business Development

Reports To: Sales Director / Head of Key Accounts

Job Summary:

The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for building and maintaining strong, long-term

term relationships with the companys most important clients. This role focuses on

understanding key customers’ needs, developing strategic account plans, and ensuring the

delivery of tailored solutions that meet client objectives while driving revenue growth and

profitability for the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Account Management & Relationship Building

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients.
  • Build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with strategic accounts.
  • Understand clients’ business goals, challenges, and industry trends to provide

relevant solutions.

• Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Achieve or exceed account revenue and profitability targets.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop account-specific

campaigns.

• Strategic Planning

  • Develop and implement strategic account plans that align with client objectives.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with clients to ensure satisfaction and identify

growth opportunities.

  • Monitor key account metrics and performance indicators.

• Collaboration & Coordination

  • Work closely with internal teams (e.g., product development, customer service,

logistics) to ensure client needs are met.

  • Serve as a liaison between key clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide feedback to product and operations teams to improve offerings.

• Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare regular reports on account status, forecasts, and sales performance.
  • Analyze market and competitor data to identify trends and opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related

field (MBA preferred).

• Experience: 2–4 years of experience in key account management, B2B sales, or

customer success.

• Proven track record of managing large or strategic client accounts.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

• Strategic thinking and analytical ability.

• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities effectively.

• Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).

• Results-driven with a customer-focused mindset.

Performance Metrics (KPIs):

• Account revenue growth and retention rates.

• Client satisfaction and Net Promoter Score (NPS).

• Achievement of sales targets and profitability goals.

• Number of upselling or cross-selling opportunities closed.
