Job Summary:
Kalarikovilakam, a reputed wellness and healthcare centre in Kollengode, Palakkad, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Junior Master Chef 4 to assist in the efficient operation of our kitchen. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Head Chef in all culinary activities, ensure the preparation of high-quality diet food for patients, and supervise junior staff. This role requires strong culinary knowledge, leadership skills, and a keen eye for quality and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations and food preparation.
- Prepare diet-specific meals, juices, and water for patients as per individual diet charts.
- Ensure the quality and quantity of food production meets the required standards.
- Review and understand all patient diet charts and instruct junior kitchen staff accordingly.
- Supervise and train lower-level staff on cooking techniques, hygiene, and dietary requirements.
- Monitor and control the quality and quantity of ingredients and food being used and prepared.
- Inspect and ensure the quality of received raw materials and supplies.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef in planning and developing new nutritious dishes.
- Attend all internal meetings and staff training sessions as scheduled.
- Ensure timely and hygienic preparation of all diet meals.
- Step in and prepare food in the staff cafeteria during staff shortages.
- Maintain all necessary kitchen records, including food production, inventory, and hygiene checklists.
Job Requirements:
Educational Qualification:
- Minimum: Certificate in Cookery Course (from a recognised institute)
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably with experience in dietary or health-based food preparation.
Specialised Training:
- Required: Knowledge of various types of food, especially therapeutic and diet-specific cuisines.
Skills Required:
- Strong cooking skills with a deep understanding of nutrition and dietary needs.
- Ability to effectively teach and guide junior kitchen staff.
- Proficient in knife handling and food preparation techniques.
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
- Attention to detail, particularly in quality control and hygiene.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
