Organization Background:

Vicharta Samuday Samarthan Manch (VSSM) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the holistic development of nomadic, denotified, and marginalized communities. Our key projects include the development of educational campuses, housing projects, and the VSSM City Centre.

The Junior Engineer will assist the senior engineering team in site monitoring, coordination, documentation, reporting, and other construction-related tasks, gaining hands-on experience in project execution and management.

Key Responsibilities

·      Assist senior engineers in the execution and monitoring of construction activities.

·      Coordinate with contractors, site supervisors, labour teams, and vendors.

·      Conduct site inspections and report daily progress accurately.

·      Maintain project documentation, measurement sheets, and site logs.

·      Ensure that construction work is carried out as per approved plans, design guidelines, and quality standards.

·      Support quality checks and safety compliance on site.

·      Assist in preparing BOQs, quantity estimation, and basic project reports.

·      Attend team meetings, record minutes and contribute to preparing status updates.

Requirements

English and Gujarati/Hindi

·      Basic understanding of civil engineering principles and construction practices.

·      Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions diligently.

·      Positive attitude, discipline, and strong time management skills.

MS Excel and Word

·      Eagerness to learn and develop project management skills.

·      Strong observational skills and ability to prepare accurate site reports.
