JUNIOR ENGINEER

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tender Preparation & Documentation

• Study tender documents including NIT, BOQ, technical specifications, and drawings.
• Assist in preparing pre-qualification and technical bid submissions.
• Compile all tender-related documents as per client requirements and submission timelines.
• Ensure compliance with tender conditions and company policies.

2. Estimation & Costing

• Collect and analyze data for material, equipment, and manpower costs.
• Prepare preliminary quantity take-offs (QTO) from drawings.
• Assist senior engineers in developing cost estimates and pricing sheets.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain quotations for materials and services.

3. Technical Evaluation

• Support in reviewing technical requirements, specifications, and scope of work.
• Compare vendor offers technically and commercially.
• Prepare basic design inputs, if required, for proposal purposes.

4. Coordination

• Coordinate internally with Design, Procurement, Finance, and Project teams for inputs.
• Communicate with clients, consultants, and vendors to clarify tender queries.
• Follow up on approvals and submission timelines.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain and update the tender database, including bid documents, correspondences, and clarifications.
• Prepare tender status reports and bid summaries for management review.
• Assist in post-bid clarifications and negotiations support.

Key Skills Required:

• Knowledge of EPC tendering process (technical + commercial aspects).
• Understanding of project drawings, BOQ, and engineering specifications.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation tools.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Educational Qualification:

• Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering (as per project domain).

Experience:

• 0–2 years of experience in Tendering / Estimation / Proposals in EPC or Construction Industry.
• Internship or project experience in tendering or estimation will be an added advantage.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

• Timely submission of bids.
• Accuracy of cost estimation and BOQs.
• Compliance with tender requirements.
• Quality and completeness of bid documentation.
