Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Junior Design Engineer - Electrical (Solar) located in Pune. The role involves day-to-day tasks related to design engineering, mechanical engineering, computer-aided design (CAD), electrical engineering, and product design within the renewable energy sector. Key Responsibilities Assist in the design and drafting of electrical layouts for solar PV systems (both AC and DC sides). Develop basic Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), cable routing plans, earthing, and lightning protection layouts. Support the preparation of detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical specifications. Conduct preliminary load analysis, inverter sizing, and cable sizing with guidance from senior engineers. Ensure all designs are in compliance with national and international standards (IS, IEC, MNRE, DISCOM norms). Work with cross-functional teams including civil and mechanical to ensure coordinated project execution. Assist in preparing project documentation including datasheets, system design reports, and drawings for client submissions. Conduct site visits (when required) for data collection, validation, and as-built drawings. Maintain version control and drawing records through appropriate project tracking tools. Qualifications Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering. 0–2 years of experience in electrical design, preferably in solar PV projects. Basic understanding of solar power systems and electrical components (inverters, transformers, switchgear, etc.). Familiarity with AutoCAD is a must; knowledge of software like Helioscope, PVsyst, or SketchUp is a plus. Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn. Good communication and teamwork skills.
