Junior Data Manager – Data Operations

As Junior Data Manager on the Data Operations team you will analyse data needs of the company and use your analytical and coding skills to maintain reliable and valid market data. Your role is key in ensuring constancy of standards and collaborating with the wider Data management and other stakeholders to oversee the delivery of accurate, timely and correct data while leveraging knowledge of the Market (prices). You will produce and leverage business intelligence to facilitate and define monitoring and controlling of data related operations to ensure the standards for data services are met. You will collaborate with engineering teams on data product and services development to provide the business with high-quality data.
In details, the position encompasses duties and responsibilities as follows:
Streamlining data collection and analysis procedures to ensure fast access to metrics and data analysis.
Developing and maintaining Reference data and Metadata. Creating and managing terminology, valid data and values.
Defining and implementing data management protocols.
Maintaining business glossary; recording business rules, standards and quality guidelines.
Owning and managing the data lifecycle.
Identifying and resolving market data related issues.
Becoming the Data Steward of Market Prices and sharing knowledge across the organization.
Any ad hoc duties that may be required from time to time
The ideal candidate disposes of:
Advanced education in statistics, mathematics, computer science.
Well-honed listening skills, allowing you to draw understanding of internal client needs.
Possesses 1-3 years of overall experience.
Must be flexible to work across multiple time zones.
Methodical and organized, creating and maintaining precise and clear documentation and code.
Self-organized, creating and maintaining precise and clear documentation, maintaining and developing further the Reference data and business glossary to keep them consistent.
Strong attention to detail and high degree of problem-solving skills.
Solid knowledge of data management principles.
Strong customer awareness, ability to manage relationships and deal confidently with senior management and external vendors.
Effective research, analysis and communication skills.
Maintain data integrity
Strong knowledge of Python and SQL.
Knowledge of containerization (Docker is preferred).
Knowledge of workflows management tools (Apache Airflow) is desirable.
Experience of data quality control techniques is an advantage.
Experience on ZEMA software is a plus.
Knowledge about commodities trading is desirable.
