Job Title: Junior Accountant (Tally Software Expert)

Location: Kolkata
Department: Accounting
Reports to: Senior Accountant/Finance Manager

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant with expertise in Tally Software to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will assist in managing daily accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy, and providing support for financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance. You will play a key role in maintaining financial records and working closely with senior accountants to streamline processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounting Entries: Process daily accounting transactions, including purchase, sales, and journal entries, using Tally Software.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling bank statements and ledger entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Invoice Processing: Manage invoicing, billing, and payment processing, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Data Entry & Ledger Maintenance: Enter financial data into the Tally system, update ledgers, and maintain accurate records for audits and reporting purposes.
  • GST & Tax Compliance: Assist in preparing GST returns and supporting documentation, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports by generating data and reports using Tally.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile various accounts including payable, receivable, and general ledger accounts.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Provide assistance in financial analysis, identifying discrepancies, and preparing reports for management review.
  • Ad-hoc Tasks: Assist the senior accountant with various financial tasks and provide any necessary support during audits or month-end processes.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Educational Background:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in a similar position using Tally Software.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in Tally Software (Tally ERP 9, Tally Prime).
  • Good understanding of accounting principles, journal entries, and bookkeeping processes.
  • Familiarity with GST, Income Tax, and other regulatory compliance.
  • Additional Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
