Jr. Interior Designer

• A Junior Interior Designer assists senior designers in creating functional and aesthetically pleasing interior spaces by participating in all project phases, from concept development and space planning to furniture selection and material sourcing. Key responsibilities include creating design drawings, mood boards, and 3D models, performing site visits, and coordinating with contractors and vendors, all while gaining experience in the field. This role requires proficiency in design software like AutoCAD and SketchUp, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn from experienced team members.
• Core Responsibilities
• Design Support: Assist senior designers in developing design concepts, space plans, and layouts for residential and commercial projects.
• Visual & Presentation Materials: Create mood boards, presentations, and 3D renderings to communicate design ideas to clients and the team.
• Material & Furniture Selection: Research and select furniture, fabrics, finishes, and fixtures, often by contacting suppliers for samples.
• Project Coordination: Liaise with clients, contractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution and installation.
• Technical Tasks: Produce drawings (floor plans, detail drawings), create paint schedules, and help prepare specifications for interior finishes.
• Site Visits & Monitoring: Conduct site visits to gather data, assess feasibility, and oversee the on-site installation and accessorizing of elements.
• Required Skills & Qualifications
• Education: A bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field is often required.
• Software Proficiency: Strong skills in design software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Photoshop for creating visuals and presentations.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in space planning, drafting, and 3D modeling.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
• Experience: Typically requires 0-2 years of related experience, often in a support role under close supervision. Key Aspects of the Role
