Key Responsibilities Develop, enhance, and maintain custom programs, reports, function modules, classes, and interfaces using ABAP (Advanced Business Application Programming). Write efficient, reusable, and well-documented ABAP code following established coding standards and best practices. Provide expert-level technical support for various SAP modules, identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex technical issues and defects promptly. Perform root cause analysis for recurring problems and implement sustainable solutions to ensure system stability and business continuity. Design and optimize SAP ABAP custom developments, ensuring scalability, performance, and adherence to architectural guidelines. Conduct performance tuning and optimization of existing and new ABAP programs. Create, modify, and troubleshoot SAP forms (Smartforms, Adobe Forms) and workflows to automate business processes. Implement various SAP enhancements (e.g., User Exits, BAdIs, Enhancement Spots, Implicit Enhancements) and customizations to extend standard SAP functionalities. Develop and maintain integrations with internal and external systems using various ABAP-based integration technologies (e.g., IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, Web Services). Collaborate closely with functional teams (e.g., FI, CO, SD, MM, PP) to deeply understand business requirements. Translate complex business requirements into detailed technical specifications and viable ABAP solutions. Perform thorough unit testing and debugging of developed programs to ensure functionality, quality, and adherence to specifications. Support integration testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) phases. Conduct comprehensive code reviews for peer developers to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices. Make proactive recommendations for system improvements, new development approaches, and technology : Experience : Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience as an SAP ABAP Consultant. ABAP Proficiency : Strong and proven proficiency in ABAP programming, including : Reports (ALV, Interactive Reports) Function Modules, Classes, Objects Dialog Programming Data Dictionary Performance Tuning (SQL Trace, Runtime Analysis, Debugging) Debugging techniques SAP Module Understanding : Deep understanding of standard SAP modules and their underlying business processes (e.g., Finance, Controlling, Sales & Distribution, Materials Management, Production Planning).
