Position Primary title: Optometrist (B.Optom) — Bhavnagar, Gujarat (On-site) Role & Responsibilities Perform comprehensive eye examinations including objective and subjective refraction, visual acuity testing, and binocular vision assessment for patients across age groups. Conduct anterior and posterior segment evaluations using slit-lamp biomicroscopy and direct/indirect ophthalmoscopy; identify ocular pathology and escalate to ophthalmology when required. Fit and instruct patients on spectacles and contact lenses — recommend lens types, coatings, and frame selection; ensure accurate measurements and dispense eyewear. Run community and in-clinic vision screening camps, pediatric vision checks, and pre-employment/driver’s license vision assessments. Maintain precise patient records, test results, prescriptions, and follow-up plans; use clinic management software for appointments and inventory updates. Provide patient education on ocular health, preventive care, compliance with treatment, and coordinate referrals to ophthalmologists for surgical or medical management. Skills & Qualifications Must-Have Bachelor of Optometry (B.Optom) — recognized degree and valid optometry registration/licence where applicable. 1–3 years clinical experience in an eye clinic or optical retail environment; strong hands-on refraction and slit-lamp skills. Proficiency in spectacle dispensing, contact lens fitting, and basic ocular pathology recognition. Good communication skills in Gujarati/Hindi/English and ability to counsel patients effectively. Preferred Experience with clinic management/EHR software and basic inventory controls for optical products. Exposure to community outreach or school screening programs and basic myopia management strategies.
