Java Engineering Manager

The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Manager to lead, mentor, and drive high performing engineering teams delivering enterprise-grade, scalable fintech solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to architect, develop, and ship robust software while ensuring adherence to best engineering practices, project timelines, and product goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of engineers across multiple projects and sprints
• Drive the development and delivery of scalable, event-driven microservices using Java Spring Boot
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders product, QA, infrastructure to define, design, and deliver new features and enhancements
• Own the engineering execution from architecture to deployment for critical fintech applications
• Act as a technical advisor to team members; support code reviews, solutioning, and hands-on problem resolution
• Implement and advocate Agile practices (Scrum/SAFe), ensuring continuous delivery and improvement
• Oversee integrations with banking systems, third-party APIs, and financial platforms
• Lead hiring efforts, mentoring, performance reviews, and team upskilling
• Manage risks, dependencies, and delivery timelines across ongoing initiatives
• Maintain high engineering standards for code quality, security, scalability, and performance

Skills Required:

• Proven experience in engineering management or tech lead roles in high-growth
• environments
• Strong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, microservice architectures, and
• event-driven systems
• Sound architectural judgment for designing scalable, fault-tolerant backend systems
• Solid grasp of Agile methodologies including Scrum or SAFe Agile frameworks
• Excellent people management and team-building capabilities
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills
• Familiarity with system integration patterns, REST APIs, message queues, and cloud-native technologies
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Prior experience in Fintech or BFSI domains is highly preferred

Preferred Certifications:

• PMP, Prince2, CAMP, or PMI-Agile Certified
• AWS or Azure Cloud Certification (Solution Architect/DevOps Engineer)

Good to Have:

• Prior experience working in fintech start-ups or BFSI transformation projects
• Exposure to banking integrations, trust accounts, escrow mechanisms, or similar domains
• Working knowledge of infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and DevOps practices
