Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based applications focused on cross-border payment processing.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and other developers to understand business and functional requirements.
• Integrate APIs and third-party services related to payment gateways, FX engines, SWIFT, and compliance systems.
• Implement security best practices in payment systems, including data encryption, masking, and compliance with industry standards (e.g., PCI DSS, AML/KYC).
• Work with real-time transaction processing, clearing & settlement systems, and reconciliation modules.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and availability in high-throughput environments.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) processes.
• Stay updated with emerging trends in fintech, blockchain, and global payment regulations.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience.
• Strong experience in cross-border payment systems, international remittances, or correspondent banking integrations.
• Solid understanding of SWIFT messages (MT/MX), ISO 20022, FX transactions, and payment gateways.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate, RESTful APIs, and Microservices Architecture.
• Familiarity with message brokers like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Proficient in writing unit, integration, and performance tests.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with blockchain-based remittance or digital wallets is a plus.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks in the financial sector.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Contributions to open-source fintech projects or participation in relevant communities.
