ITOM Senior Developer

Roles & Responsibilities

Technical Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, and implement ITOM modules including Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, Orchestration, and CMDB.
• Design and implement ITOM workflows, automation scripts, and custom integrations.
• Configure Discovery schedules, probe configurations, patterns, and troubleshoot discovery issues.
• Implement and maintain Service Mapping to ensure accurate service topology and dependency mapping.
• Work on Event Management dashboards, rules, alert automation, and correlation rules.
• Integrate ITOM with third-party tools and enterprise systems (API integrations, MID Server configuration, etc.).
• Ensure CMDB data quality, reconciliation, and attribute completeness.
• Automate operational tasks and processes using scripts, workflows, and orchestration activities.
• Troubleshoot ITOM operational issues and perform root-cause analysis.

Project & Collaboration Responsibilities

• Work closely with ITSM/CMDB teams, Infrastructure teams, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in requirement gathering, design discussions, and solution architecture planning.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.
• Support testing, deployment, and post-implementation validation.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance as needed.

Required Skills (Mandatory)

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as an ITOM Developer / Sr. Developer.
• Strong expertise in ServiceNow ITOM modules – Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, Orchestration, CMDB.
• Skilled in JavaScript, Glide API, Script Includes, Background Scripts, and MID Server configuration.
• Experience with patterns, probes, and sensor configurations.
• Strong understanding of CMDB architecture, CI classes, and relationships.
• Experience working in large enterprise environments.

Desired Skills

• Experience in the Automobile / Manufacturing industry.
• Knowledge of ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, Change).
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS / Azure / GCP).
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD tools, and automation frameworks.
• ITIL certification or ServiceNow certifications (ITOM, Discovery, CMDB).
