Job Description

As a Computer Network Technician at W Hotels, your primary responsibility will be to install, configure, manage, maintain, test, evaluate, and repair computer networks, workstations, support server systems, hardware/software, user accounts, and computer/telephone rooms. You will play a critical role in training and instructing users on the proper use and security of all systems, ensuring smooth operation. Troubleshooting technical problems related to computer hardware/software, LAN and WAN, and internet connectivity will be a key aspect of your day-to-day tasks. Additionally, you will be required to provide network communications support, offer technical guidance to users, and escalate major issues to vendors/technicians when necessary. Analyzing, recommending, and implementing process improvements will be essential to enhance overall system efficiency. Collaborating with team members to assess computing needs and system requirements, inspecting, testing, and diagnosing computer equipment/systems, and coordinating IT-related equipment installations, moves, additions, changes, and enhancements are part of your responsibilities. Moreover, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing network security measures, providing end-user support for applications, managing disk space for the entire network, and maintaining an accurate inventory of all technological devices. Your role will also involve entering commands, activating controls on computers and equipment, and ensuring that backup tapes are securely stored. In addition to technical responsibilities, you are expected to adhere to company policies and procedures, report any accidents or unsafe work conditions, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and provide excellent guest service support. Being a role model, fostering positive relationships, and supporting team goals are vital in this role. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree with at least 2 years of related work experience. While supervisory experience is not required, you are expected to possess clear communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
