ISPL CIB Central CCCO OPC (Operations Permanent Controls) -AVP/VP (Mumbai)

Position Purpose

The ISPL CIB CCCO Central OPC Team supports the Metiers/Functions on Controls to maintain a robust setup of controls that will allow the identification, assessment, reporting, monitoring and mitigation of operational risks. The team is based out of Mumbai & Chennai.

As the Manager of the Team, the ISPL CIB CCCO Central OPC Team Lead is responsible for the recruitment, onboarding and the development, Training of team members, the definition of objectives and the execution, monitoring of the overall performance of the team to deliver the required results.

In addition to the managerial functions, within its scope of activity, the ISPL CIB CCCO Central OPC Manager is responsible for providing appropriate support and guidelines to OPCs, monitoring and supervising their activities, meet TATs, Action plans and Restitution, governance etc.

This role is an opportunity to interact with various departments and countries across CIB (Global Banking, Global Markets, Client engagement financial security, Securities Services, WM) and the control results are reported to various stakeholders including the CIB Senior Management.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

Develop and implement offshoring strategies and processes. Contribute to the overall Risk management framework. Able to oversee Compliance controls such as Sanctions related, Professional Ethics, personal account dealing, conflict of interest, AML related controls etc.

Carry out annual independent checks / evaluation of controls (Defined in BNP Paribas Group Risk policies) around Third-Party Risk Management process. Identify and report gaps between results and expected outcome. Ensuring that all the Outsourcing Services globally for CIB with complying with Generic Controls Plans in line with BNP Paribas Group Policies.

Governance Prepare & organise meetings across Global TPRM community to provide updates on GCP controls adherence.

Develop and deliver content to Senior Management, Risk SMEs, Audit and Regulatory Representatives summarizing the results controls execution activities. Oversee and challenge the TPRM BAU process including plan, identify and assess, control, and mitigate, test and validate, monitor, and report. Reporting Prepare required management / regulatory reporting.

Ensure compliance with BNP PARIBAS internal policies and regulations,

Perform appraisal, set objectives, monitor the performance and facilitate the development of team members, Monitor the staffing of resources and adjust size and expertise where necessary,

Allocate the work within the team and ensure back-ups are appointed and trained on each control type. Evaluate control results and perform Quality checks.

Support the team, reply to escalation, reallocate tasks based on priorities, ensure Modus Operandi is in place.

Ensure the proper execution according to the control plans in a timely manner (ensure the quality of the outcome coming from the team, monitors the control results),

Provides appropriate support to OPCs in their activities (control execution, identification and assessment of risk areas, definition and monitoring of action plans, etc.),

Report controls results and related risks to the CIB CCCO Central team Management,

Review periodically existing control framework and propose enhancements, including mechanisms for feedback loops,

Ensure proper communications and escalation of key risk areas on a timely basis to the CIB CCCO Central Team,

Manage onboarding of new activities in relation with the Project Manager in the CCCO Central Team.

Additional Responsibilities

For the time being, responsibilities of ISPL CIB CCCO Central OPC Team will focus on control execution on topics related to Compliance controls, Professional Ethics & also TPRM Third Party Risk management. This will evolve over time to include additional OPC responsibilities (e.g. incidents management, Risk and Control Self-Assessment, follow-up of recommendations issued by LOD 2/3 etc.).

Technical & Behavioral Competencies

Must have:

Proven track -record of leading and managing teams,

Demonstrable knowledge of risk management in Financial Services,

Proven experience of control execution and reporting.

General Risk management and Controls management awareness.

Internal Controls Testing/ Internal Audit.

Understanding of Third-Party Risk Management including Inherent and Residual Risks.

Familiarity with Outsourcing Governance and Ongoing Monitoring.

Familiarity with the banking products and services including front to back process view especially Third-party risk management would be an added advantage.

Familiarity with Computer applications such as Excel & PowerPoint

Additional relevant competencies:

RCSA

Understanding of offshoring processes and strategies, SLA management.

Experience in Operational Risk Management through previous roles/experience in 1/2/3 LOD (Lines of Defense) or experience in internal/external audit,

Ability to work with cross functional and cross jurisdictional stakeholders.

Work on presentations towards management and stakeholder meetings

Specific Qualifications (if required)

Expertise/Knowledge on Third Party Risk management & Professional Ethics is preferable.
