Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Department:

Position Overview:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for providing strategic financial leadership to the organization and driving financial planning, risk management, compliance, and growth initiatives. The role demands a seasoned finance professional experience in the maritime or allied engineering industry.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Financial Planning & Leadership:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational goals and long-term growth.
  • Partner with the leadership team to drive profitability, cost optimization, and working capital efficiency.
  • Support strategic business decisions, including mergers, acquisitions, and new project feasibility studies.

2. Financial Management & Control:

  • Oversee accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management for Indian & foreign entities.
  • Establish and monitor internal controls, financial systems, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure timely preparation of financial statements, MIS reports, and management dashboards.

3. Compliance, Audit & Governance:

  • Ensure adherence to statutory requirements, including GST, TDS, Income Tax, ROC filings, and MSME regulations for the group companies.
  • Liaise with auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities for financial audits, taxation audits assessments and statutory compliance.
  • Oversee risk management, insurance coverage, and internal audits.

4. Treasury & Banking:

  • Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, and fund utilization.
  • Optimize cash flow and working capital; monitor receivables and payables closely.
  • Negotiate and manage funding arrangements, including term loans and project financing.

5. Business Support & Operational Finance:

  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Projects, and Sales teams to support costing, pricing, and margin analysis.
  • Review project financials, revenue recognition, and cost controls specific to marine and defense contracts.
  • Support management in decision-making through financial modeling and scenario planning.

6. Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and mentor the finance and accounts team to build strong financial acumen and operational discipline.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Deep understanding of MSME financial frameworks and maritime industry practices.
  • Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Tally Prime, SAP, or similar).
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Integrity, confidentiality, and strong decision-making ability.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA)

    or

    Cost Accountant (ICWA)

    mandatory.
  • Minimum

    1520 years

    of progressive experience in finance, preferably in

    manufacturing / engineering / maritime

    sectors.
  • Prior experience in MSME setup with end-to-end finance ownership will be an added advantage.
