JOB DESCRIPTION CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER

Role Overview

The Chief Finance Officer (CFO) will serve as the strategic financial leader of EKK Infrastructure Limited, overseeing all aspects of financial management, corporate governance, and fiscal discipline across the companys corporate offices and project sites. This role is pivotal in driving financial prudence, enabling profitable growth, and ensuring robust compliance and investor confidence for an expanding EPC organization with operations in Roads, Highways, and Commercial Building Projects.

Key Responsibilities

A. Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Partner with the COO and senior leadership team to define and execute the company’s financial strategy aligned to business goals and project expansion roadmap.
  • Lead long-term financial planning, forecasting, and scenario modeling for multi-state EPC operations.
  • Provide financial insights to support strategic decisions on new bids, JV partnerships, and capital investments.

B. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

  • Establish a rigorous budgeting process with cost control mechanisms across projects.
  • Conduct periodic variance analysis and MIS reporting with actionable insights.
  • Ensure profitability and cash flow management across EPC projects, tracking project-wise P&L and balance sheet metrics.

C. Accounting, Audit & Governance

  • Oversee end-to-end accounting operations, consolidation of books, and statutory audits in compliance with Indian GAAP / Ind-AS.
  • Maintain strong internal financial controls and ensure adherence to company policies.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities (ROC, GST, IT, PF, ESI).

D. Treasury & Cash Flow Management

  • Manage banking relationships and ensure adequate working capital availability for ongoing projects.
  • Optimize debt-equity ratio, negotiate credit facilities, and oversee fund utilization efficiency.
  • Implement robust treasury systems for forecasting cash flow and mitigating liquidity risks.

E. Project Finance & Cost Control

  • Evaluate and structure project financing for EPC and PPP projects.
  • Monitor project cash flows, retention money, claims, and vendor payments to ensure healthy margins.
  • Strengthen cost accounting, material consumption tracking, and project cost-to-completion analysis.

F. Risk Management & Compliance

  • Develop a risk management framework addressing project, regulatory, and financial risks.
  • Ensure statutory compliance across taxation, company law, and contract regulations.
  • Drive implementation of ERP / digital finance systems for better transparency and control.

G. Leadership & People Development

  • Build and mentor a strong finance and accounts team at corporate and site levels.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and ethical financial practices.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Project, Procurement, and HR teams for integrated decision-making.

Desired Candidate Profile

Educational Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory.
  • Additional qualifications such as CMA, CS, or MBA (Finance) will be an advantage.

Experience:

  • 18+ years of progressive experience in Finance & Accounts with at least 5 years in a leadership/CFO capacity.
  • Strong exposure to EPC / Infrastructure / Construction / Real Estate / Engineering sectors.
  • Proven experience managing multi-location operations, audits, and large-scale project financing.

Technical Competencies:

  • Expertise in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Treasury Management, Taxation, and Ind-AS.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP / Tally Prime / Oracle) and advanced Excel financial modeling.
  • Strong command over MIS, statutory compliances, and contract accounting.
