JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job Title: Manager/Sr. Manager

Exp- 10- 15 Years

• Ability to handle prior art/patentability / invalidation and FTO searches.
• Making of Landscape preparation and patent monitoring of drug products for the proposed Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API).
• -Conducting Infringement/FTO Analysis for API for countries of interest and provide clearances to CRD.
• Freedom to operate analysis-Drug product-based, Technology-based and packing based.
• Orange book patent analysis-critical non-infringement strategy.
• Collaboration with R&D scientists, analysts regarding patent issues.
• Taking of attorney opinions for proposed invalidity or non-infringement study wrt the proposed route of synthesis or products etc.
• Good exposure to make drafting of patent specification and responses to examination reports for India and US and Europe.
• Very good hand in filing, studying and analyzing pre-grant oppositions, post-grant oppositions, revocations against granted patents;
• Provide relevant inputs to CRD in development of patent non-infringing API process/polymorphs etc.
• Identify relevant patents/published patent applications which requires invalidation and preparing suitable stands based on invalidity grounds.
• Prepare responses for Customer queries relating to API for cross-functional departments such as RAD/Marketing/BD/ Portfolio design team, etc., and also for queries of external customers.
• Efficiently handling multiple projects with tight deadlines, managing deliverables, resources and timelines.
• Drafting, filing and prosecution of patent applications in India, US and Europe.
• Patent searching in individual patent office sites of different countries.
• Giving patent certifications for regulatory submissions in different countries
• Patent litigation support and monitoring.
• Business development project opportunities evaluation.
• Periodic review regarding maintenance of important patents / patent publications
• Watching competitor patents/publications.
• Well versed with generic drugs, ANDA filings, competitive intelligence, and drugs@fda website.
• Effectively utilized a variety of patent and scientific databases and open sources.
• Good exposure in handling different databases like Scifinder, WIPS, Orbit and Total patents.
• Ability to manage a range of projects from proposal stage to successful project completion.
• Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs.
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, supporting materials and deliverables.
• Ability to and experience of providing input to organizational business and budget planning.
• Strong multi-tasking skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Team management experience with the ability to manage and motivate project teams.
• Should mentor and train junior searchers.
• Should form and develop team of skilled searchers.
• Maintain and capable of building sustainable relationships with colleagues and key individuals.
• Good planning, organizational, technical / analytical and decision making skills.
• Capability to provide timely, accurate and relevant project and portfolio reporting as agreed.
• Ensure continuous learning and development of self; keep updated self on advancements/amendments in the IP/Legal field for various countries of interest.
• Moving annual total calculation of sales and consumption of the active pharmaceutical ingredients within the consecutive years with the use of IMS database.
• Segregation of the individual sales and consumption of API quantities in individual countries and regions.
