Job Description

1. Position Summary

The Instrument Technician is responsible for installing, calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of industrial instrumentation and control systems. The role ensures reliable and accurate operation of instruments used for measuring pressure, temperature, flow, level, and other process variables.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesInstallation & Commissioning

  • Install and commission instrumentation and control devices (transmitters, sensors, gauges, controllers, actuators, etc.).
  • Verify correct installation according to technical drawings, P&IDs, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Support loop checks and functional testing during commissioning.

Maintenance & Calibration

  • Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on field instruments and control systems.
  • Calibrate instruments using standard test equipment and maintain calibration logs.
  • Ensure instrumentation accuracy and reliability for process optimization.

Troubleshooting & Repair

  • Diagnose faults in instrumentation and control loops.
  • Repair or replace defective components, wiring, tubing, and devices.
  • Support troubleshooting of PLC/DCS interfaces (as required).

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain records of maintenance, calibration, and repair activities.
  • Update instrument lists, loop drawings, and maintenance logs.
  • Prepare reports on equipment performance and failures.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and permit-to-work (PTW) requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and local regulations.
  • Attend safety meetings and support safe work practices.

Coordination & Support

  • Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and operations teams for maintenance scheduling.
  • Assist in modifications, upgrades, and project implementation for instrumentation systems.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior technicians if required.

3. Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma/ITI in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics, or related field.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹16,000.00 per month
