As a Principal Information Security Engineer at bp, you will lead and coach a team dedicated to defining security policies, uncovering vulnerabilities, identifying non-compliances, and reporting findings to enhance bp's security posture in cloud environments, infrastructure, and data. You will advocate for and ensure adherence to security standards, provide insights on industry trends, and foster a culture of excellence. Your key responsibilities will include: - Aligning strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams. - Setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and coaching team members. - Creating a positive engagement framework for an inclusive work environment. - Evolving the security roadmap to meet future needs. - Providing technical guidance and managing dependencies for squads and teams. - Implementing cloud, infrastructure, and data security standards. - Collaborating with business partners on secure platform and infrastructure strategies. - Creating materials on embedding and measuring security in cloud, infrastructure, and data spaces. - Presenting results to peers and senior management. - Mentoring emerging talent for continuous development. Qualifications required for this role: - 10+ years of experience leading a security engineering team, with 5+ years in cloud and infrastructure security. - Strong knowledge of information and cyber security principles. - Hands-on experience designing security solutions for data infrastructure, cloud, and data products. - Experience in partner management and communication with senior leadership. - Technical leadership experience overseeing projects. - Expertise in securing multi-cloud or hybrid environments. - Knowledge of technologies for scaling Data Security and infrastructure security. - Hands-on delivery using programming languages and/or cloud environments. - Exposure to full stack development and proficiency in technologies across data lifecycle stages. - Strong collaborator management skills.
