About the Internship

This is not your average Industrial Design internship.

At Astr Defence, we’re looking for students or recent graduates from Industrial Design or Product Design programs to join our core design team. You’ll work on real-world defence product design, concept development, and human-centred systems that our armed forces will actually use.

You won’t be doing decorative or marketing design.

What You’ll Be Doing

Industrial & Product Design

• Participate in concept design, 3D modelling, and ergonomic development of defence systems and equipment.
• Translate design research into manufacturable, field-ready industrial design solutions.
• Work with materials, form, and function to design components that are efficient, durable, and mission-critical.

Interface & Interaction Design (UI/UX)

• Contribute to interface design for mission control software, digital dashboards, and embedded systems.
• Create human-machine interaction concepts that balance usability with operational precision.

Visual & Communication Design

• Support visual storytelling — from product renders and concept presentations to videos and posters that communicate design intent.
• Work on product visualization, photography, and video editing for internal and external communication.
