Mechanical Design Internship – Astr Defence 📍 Location: Hubli, Karnataka 📅 Duration: 3-5 Months for BE, 8-10 Months for MTech | Starting: June 2025 🎓 Eligibility: BE-Mechanical or MTech About the Internship This isn’t a classroom. This isn’t a “just observe and learn” internship. This is your battlefield — of CAD, calculations, and courage. At Astr Defence, you’ll be thrown into the deep end of real-world hardware development for India’s next-gen defence systems. If you've spent sleepless nights fixing a gearbox for your SAE car, or figuring out how to shave 200 grams off your robot without it falling apart — this is your playground. What You’ll Be Doing 🛠️ Mechanical Design Sketch ideas from scratch — not templates Design 3D parts, assemblies, and enclosures in SolidWorks / Fusion 360 Create drawings, tolerance stacks, and design for manufacturing ⚙️ Prototyping & Testing Rapid prototype using 3D printing, CNC, laser cutting, etc. Test, break, re-design, repeat — we love fast loops 🤝 Collaborate Cross-Functionally Work alongside electronics, embedded, and product design teams Build systems where hardware meets software, and design meets mission What You’ll Gain 🚀 Real Engineering Exposure This isn’t just intern work — you’ll contribute directly to weapons and systems under development 🧠 Mentorship & Feedback Learn directly from hardcore engineers, ex-forces personnel, and innovators ⚔️ Purpose-Driven Work What you design could help protect those who protect us What We’re Looking For ✅ Must-Haves BE Mechanical (or related) or MTech Proficiency in SolidWorks or Fusion 360 Strong grasp of mechanical fundamentals — materials, fasteners, GD&T, DFM Passion for building and getting hands dirty — show us what you’ve built! 🔥 Bonus Points If You: Were part of SAE, Robowars, Formula Student, Aero clubs, etc. Have worked on real hardware — cars, bots, guns, drones, machines Know basic fabrication tools, machining, or hands-on prototyping Can solve from first principles , not just Google Read This Before Applying If you're looking for a comfy AC internship with only PPTs and reports — this is not for you .
