Position Overview:

Import Operations Specialist – Europe & UK

You will be responsible for managing the full import lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery, compliance with EU/UK customs regulations, and a smooth experience for clients. The role involves daily communication with overseas agents, customs brokers, port handlers, and internal teams.

Core Objective:

To ensure seamless, compliant, and timely movement of import shipments across the EU and UK through end-to-end coordination, vendor engagement, and operational accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage FCL, LCL, and Air shipments arriving into EU and UK, from port/terminal to final destination
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation handling (invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, etc.)
• Coordinate customs clearance with brokers, ensuring HS codes, duties, VAT, and permits are in order
• Schedule final mile deliveries, including warehouse, Amazon FBA, and client-specific arrangements
• Maintain close communication with local vendors, warehouses, and transporters for timely updates
• Enter shipment data, status updates, and PODs into internal systems daily
• Identify and resolve shipment delays, customs holds, or delivery disputes promptly
• Communicate proactively with clients, providing shipment updates and resolving inquiries
• Ensure full compliance with EU/UK customs regulations and import procedures

Required Skills & Experience:

• 2–7 years of experience in European and/or UK import operations (FCL, LCL, air freight)
• Strong knowledge of EU/UK customs procedures, VAT, EORI, and post-Brexit regulations
• Familiarity with major ports (e.g., Felixstowe, Rotterdam) and Amazon FBA delivery processes
• Proficient in logistics platforms, TMS, or ERP systems
• Excellent English communication skills; fluency in another European language is a plus
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote setup
• Understanding of Incoterms, bonded warehousing, and DDP shipments
