Job Description: Housekeeping Supervisor Department: Housekeeping Reporting to: Housekeeping Manager Position Overview The Housekeeping Supervisor/Executive ensures the efficient operation of the housekeeping department, maintaining five-star standards of cleanliness and service. This role involves overseeing the team, maintaining quality control, and ensuring a seamless guest experience while fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Key Responsibilities Operational Oversight Supervise daily housekeeping operations, including room cleaning, public area maintenance, and laundry services. Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, suites, and public spaces to ensure cleanliness and adherence to hotel standards. Plan and assign duties to housekeeping staff, ensuring optimal workforce allocation. Team Leadership Train, mentor, and motivate housekeeping associates to deliver exceptional service. Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and address performance-related issues. Schedule and manage team rosters, ensuring adequate staffing for peak periods. Guest Relations Address guest complaints and requests related to housekeeping promptly and professionally. Collaborate with other departments to fulfill special guest requirements, such as VIP services or events. Quality and Standards Ensure compliance with the hotel’s standard operating procedures (SOPs) for housekeeping. Implement and uphold health, hygiene, and safety protocols across all operations. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and linens, ensuring proper stock levels. Reporting and Documentation Prepare daily and weekly housekeeping reports, including room occupancy and maintenance updates. Monitor and document the usage of cleaning supplies and recommend procurement needs. Report maintenance issues or room discrepancies to the engineering department. Qualifications and Skills Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years in a supervisory role in housekeeping Education: Diploma or degree in Hotel Management or a related field preferred. Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards. Proficiency in housekeeping management software is an advantage. Strong communication skills for effective guest and team interactions. Physical Requirements Ability to walk, stand, and supervise operations for extended periods. Comfortable handling cleaning supplies and equipment as necessary.
