Housekeeping Supervisor

Job Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for supervising housekeeping staff and ensuring a clean, hygienic, and safe environment in all hospital areas in accordance with infection control standards and hospital policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping activities in wards, OPD, ICU, OT, laboratories, offices, and common areas
• Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and infection control standards are strictly followed
• Allocate duties and prepare duty rosters for housekeeping staff
• Train staff on cleaning procedures, use of chemicals, equipment handling, and safety practices
• Inspect hospital areas regularly and take corrective action when required
• Ensure proper waste segregation and biomedical waste disposal as per hospital guidelines
• Monitor and maintain stock of cleaning materials, chemicals, and equipment
• Report maintenance issues such as plumbing, electrical, or structural problems
• Ensure staff adhere to hospital dress code, hygiene, and discipline
• Coordinate with nursing, maintenance, and administration departments
• Handle complaints related to housekeeping services and resolve them promptly
• Maintain attendance, performance records, and incident reports

Qualifications

• Minimum education: 10th / 12th pass (Diploma in Housekeeping preferred)
• Experience: 2–5 years in hospital housekeeping or healthcare facility
• Knowledge of hospital infection control practices is mandatory
