Job Title: Head of Department – Upholstery (HOD)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled professional to lead our Upholstery Department. The HOD – Upholstery will be responsible for managing daily operations, ensuring quality craftsmanship, and driving continuous improvement within the department. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 7 years of hands-on and supervisory experience in upholstery, with mandatory experience in the furniture manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, supervise, and manage the upholstery team, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
• Oversee fabric cutting, stitching, padding, and finishing processes to maintain the highest quality standards.
• Plan and allocate manpower, resources, and materials to meet production schedules.
• Train and mentor upholsterers to enhance technical skills and craftsmanship.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety, compliance, and company standards.
• Collaborate with design and production teams for new product development and customized projects.
• Monitor quality control throughout upholstery processes and implement corrective actions as required.
• Maintain inventory of upholstery materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring minimal wastage.
• Drive process improvements, cost optimization, and timely completion of projects.
• Submit periodic reports on production, manpower, and department performance to senior management.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Mandatory experience in furniture manufacturing upholstery.
• Strong technical expertise in upholstery techniques, fabrics, foams, and finishing.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a large workforce.
• Excellent problem-solving skills for technical and process-related issues.
• Strong planning, organizational, and time management abilities.
• Effective communication and coordination skills across departments.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 7 years of experience in upholstery, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Mandatory background in furniture manufacturing upholstery.
• Diploma/Degree in Furniture Technology, Interior Design, or related discipline (preferred).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
