Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnosis and Evaluation: Perform comprehensive assessments of patients presenting with blood disorders. Order, conduct, and interpret a wide range of hematologic diagnostic tests including CBC, bone marrow analysis, flow cytometry, cytogenetics, and coagulation studies.
• Treatment Planning and Management: Formulate individualized treatment protocols, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, anticoagulation therapy, or blood transfusions, depending on the patient's diagnosis and medical condition.
• Collaborative Patient Care: Work in close coordination with oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, surgeons, and primary care providers to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis and treatment.
• Patient Education and Counseling: Provide compassionate education, support, and counseling to patients and their families regarding disease conditions, treatment options, prognosis, and lifestyle modifications.
• Research and Clinical Trials: Participate actively in ongoing clinical trials and research initiatives. Contribute to the advancement of hematology through evidence-based practice and publication of case studies or clinical findings.
• Professional Development: Stay abreast of current advancements in hematology through continuous medical education (CME), workshops, conferences, and journals. Implement latest evidence-based practices into clinical work.
• Quality Assurance and Safety: Ensure all clinical procedures and treatments are in alignment with hospital protocols and safety standards. Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
  

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• DM / DNB in Hematology from a recognized institution
• Strong diagnostic acumen and clinical decision-making skills
• Expertise in performing and interpreting hematological investigations
• Proficient in managing complex cases such as leukemias, lymphomas, hemoglobinopathies, and coagulopathies
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain medical terms to patients and families in an understandable manner
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
• Research aptitude and willingness to participate in academic or clinical research
• Compassionate, ethical, and patient-centric approach
