EHS Officer – Solar Projects

Role Overview

The EHS Officer ensures that all solar project activities comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations. This includes overseeing site operations, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a safety-first culture across solar farms or rooftop installations.

Key Responsibilities

• Site Safety Compliance

  Monitor and enforce adherence to safety protocols, PPE usage, and regulatory standards during solar panel installation and maintenance.

• Environmental Oversight

  Ensure compliance with environmental laws regarding waste disposal, emissions, and water usage on solar sites.

• Risk Assessments & Audits

  Conduct regular inspections, hazard identification, and safety audits. Recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks2.

• Training & Toolbox Talks

  Organize daily pre-job briefings, safety inductions, and awareness programs for workers and subcontractors2.

• Incident Management

  Investigate accidents and near misses, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures2.

• Emergency Preparedness

  Maintain emergency response plans and conduct drills for fire, electrical hazards, and medical emergencies2.

• Documentation & Reporting

  Maintain records of inspections, incidents, and safety equipment. Submit reports to project managers and regulatory bodies3.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Environmental Science, or Occupational Health & Safety.
• Valid certifications:

  NEBOSH

  ,

  OSHA

  ,

  Fire Safety

  ,

  First Aid

• 4–8 years of experience in solar, construction, or energy sectors3.
• Strong knowledge of

  JSA (Job Safety Analysis)

  and

  CAPA (Corrective Action Plans)

  .
