Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced and technically versatile Staff SDET Engineer (Staff Software Development Engineering Test) to lead quality efforts across our Big Data pipelines, frontend platforms, and emerging Agentic AI systems. This role requires a unique blend of data validation skills, frontend automation expertise using Cypress , and a forward-looking mindset to ensure the safety, accuracy, and robustness of autonomous AI agents . You will work cross-functionally with product, AI/ML, and engineering teams to create test strategies, frameworks, and pipelines that uphold quality in complex, data-intensive and AI-driven environments. Key Responsibilities: Big Data & Backend Testing: Design and execute test strategies for data workflows built on Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Kafka, HDFS , and similar platforms. Validate large-scale data ingestion, transformation, and processing pipelines. Develop automated data quality tests, including schema validation, partitioning logic, and anomaly detection. Frontend Automation (Cypress): Build and maintain scalable Cypress frameworks for UI and integration testing across web applications. Ensure frontend quality through robust end-to-end test coverage across multiple browsers and platforms. Collaborate closely with frontend engineers to test dynamic, data-driven interfaces. Agentic AI Systems Testing: Design simulation and evaluation environments to test AI agents for accuracy, safety, autonomy, and ethical behavior. Test agents using frameworks like LangChain , OpenAI Function Calling , or AutoGPT/ReAct patterns. Develop robust test harnesses for validating complex workflows involving multi-step reasoning, tool use, and environment interaction. Cross-Cutting QA Leadership: Build and maintain reusable testing frameworks for backend, frontend, and AI agent testing. Lead technical initiatives to scale test automation and CI/CD integration across teams. Mentor junior QA engineers and promote a quality-first culture. Drive root cause analysis and collaborate on incident resolution and preventive quality measures. Required Qualifications: Bachelors or Master s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 7+ years in Quality Engineering with hands-on experience in both backend and frontend domains. Strong experience in Big Data ecosystems : Hadoop, Spark, Hive, HDFS, Kafka. Expertise in Cypress for modern UI test automation (JavaScript/TypeScript). Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python , SQL , and Java . Experience with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI. Deep understanding of test strategies for data-intensive and distributed systems. Preferred Qualifications: Experience testing LLM-integrated systems , autonomous agents, or AI copilots. Familiarity with agent testing frameworks (LangChain, OpenAI tools,etc.). Knowledge of data validation frameworks (Great Expectations, Deequ). Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes). Exposure to security, load, and performance testing of big data and AI systems.
