Company Overview
Our client is one of the largest Global Indian Corporate Groups in the manufacturing of heavy engineering equipment, with a Group turnover exceeding ₹4,000 Crores and multi-locational operations across India and overseas. The company operates a state-of-the-art steel casting foundry (500 MT capacity) at Kolhapur, Maharashtra, catering to domestic and international customers.

Position: General Manager – Quality (Steel Cast Foundry)

Location: Kolhapur, Maharashtra
Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in Metallurgy / Mechanical / Production
Experience: 18–22 years in Quality Assurance & Quality Control in Steel Castings / Foundry Industry

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Quality function for the steel foundry, ensuring zero-defect casting production.
• Establish and monitor quality standards, systems, and procedures in line with global best practices.
• Manage QA/QC teams across all foundry processes – melting, molding, fettling, heat treatment, machining, and final inspection.
• Ensure compliance with international standards (ASTM, DIN, ASME, ISO, IBR, etc.) for steel castings.
• Oversee incoming raw material testing, in-process checks, and final product inspection.
• Implement NDT techniques – Radiography, Ultrasonic, MPI, DPI – and metallurgical testing.
• Drive root cause analysis, corrective & preventive actions (CAPA) for customer complaints and process deviations.
• Collaborate with Production & Design teams for new product development (NPD) and customer qualification.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS / ISO 45001 and other relevant certifications.
• Train, mentor, and develop the quality workforce for skill enhancement and continuous improvement.
• Lead initiatives in digital quality systems, automation, and Six Sigma / Lean quality improvements.

Candidate Profile

• 18–22 years of experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control in Steel Foundries / Heavy Castings.
• Deep knowledge of metallurgy, casting defects, NDT techniques, and metallurgical lab practices.
• Strong familiarity with customer audits, international quality certifications, and compliance norms.
• Proven track record of managing large QA/QC teams in a high-capacity foundry environment.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to interface with customers, auditors, and global stakeholders.
• Exposure to digital quality management systems will be an added advantage.
