7. 5. Position Summery

The Head of Supply Chain and Regulatory Affairs will lead end-to-end supply chain operations in India, including Anaplan-based demand planning and coordination with global factories to ensure product availability. The role also manages customs compliance, 3rd party logistics, warehousing, and last-mile delivery for OHO business. Additionally, it oversees regulatory affairs, securing approvals and benefits from Indian authorities like CDSCO, NPPA, CPCB, and leveraging Free Trade Agreements and incentive schemes

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead monthly/weekly OHO Demand Planning, ensuring budget achievement for products manufactured across global facilities (Vietnam, China, Japan, Italy). Successfully managed Safety Stock in Anaplan, reviewing Amt PSI (Production-Sales-Inventory) updates, and conducted regular/monthly reviews of supply lead times with Global SCM, resulting in zero supply gaps for OHO business in Port-to-Port and Port-of-Discharge-to-Warehouse operations.

2. Efficiently handle Third-Party Logistics (OTT) operations, including detailed vessel planning for imports in collaboration with 3PL (3rd Party Logistics). Coordinated seamless customs clearance, SVB (special valuation branch) processing, and Duty requirements, conducting HSN (Harmonized System of Nomenclature) code audits and providing FTA (Free Trade Agreement) document support from factories. Maintained a high level of service by ensuring on-time last-mile deliveries to distributors.

3. Effectively manage Inventory and Logistics Budget for fiscal years and quarters, achieving Supply Chain Management/Regulatory Affairs budget goals. Implemented regular updates on the Global Maximum (GMAX) system with monthly logistics cost results, analyzing and controlling various cost heads such as import freight, warehouse operation cost, and optimizing truck/fleet planning for efficient local dispatches.

4. Conduct simulations for Slow-Moving Inventory Provisions, engaging in S&OP (sales and operations planning) with MSM to minimize provisions. Ensured monthly updates to regional sales to liquidate slow-moving stock, utilizing Anaplan alerts for excess and less stocks, minimizing sales forecast inaccuracy.

5. Ensure the accuracy and efficiency of OHOs Management Information System (MIS), Sale Order Confirmation (SOC), JD Edwards (JDE), and Production Sales and Inventory (PSI) processes. Conduct weekly tasks such as JDE sales order management and distributor PO/PI execution, as well as monthly activities including inventory audits, commercial SCM reports for finance, OTT Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reviews, and Market PSI analysis and review.

6. Spearhead OHO RA by ensuring regulatory compliance through connections with CDSCO (Central Drugs Standards control organization), Legal Metrology, Waste Management, and NPPA (National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority). Time bound submissions for securing new and renewed licenses in compliance with Indian regulations.

7. Manage OHW RA by liaising with the Dept of Pharma & Health for clearance of Make-In-India OHW project licenses. Achieve 30% reduction in different license approval times for the start of mass production at OHW. securing approvals from DoP (Dept of Pharmaceuticals), CDSCO (Central Drugs Standard Control Organization), LM (legal Metrology), and other departments in 30% less time.

  • Masters degree in supply chain management/Logistics, complemented by knowledge of MTA (Make to Availability)/MTO(Make to Order) production processes.
  • Over 10 years of progressive experience in supply chain, logistics, and regulatory affairs within international or domestic settings.
  • Proven hands-on experience in managing 3rd party logistics, coupled with a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape for medical devices and effective communication with relevant government departments.
  • Demonstrated success in coordinating complex operations with 3PL, covering Customs, Transport, Warehouse Management, Safety Stock Management, and Demand Planning.
  • Proficient in import/export documentation, International Shipping lanes, INCO terms, and well-versed in India's regulatory requirements for the import and export of medical devices.
  • Expertise in Inventory Management, conducting stock audits, and analyzing commercial reports within the supply chain management domain.
  • Strong analytical skills, coupled with clear communication and effective presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal English; proficiency in the local language is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with an ERP system is an added advantage.
