Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1. Strategic Sourcing & Category Management

  • Manage the full lifecycle of sourcing for assigned product categories (from supplier scouting to order placement).
  • Conduct fact-based negotiations using cost breakdown.
  • Develop category strategies that balance cost, quality, delivery, risk, and sustainability objectives.
  • Create and maintain should-cost models, cost sheets, and price trend dashboards.
  • Monitor market intelligence, commodity indices, and global trends to anticipate cost movements.

2. Supplier Development & Relationship Management

  • Identify, assess, and onboard new suppliers for new product development (NPD) and CBU sourcing.
  • Evaluate supplier capability, capacity, and compliance with quality, ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance), and ethical standards.
  • Lead supplier performance reviews using scorecardsdrive improvement in cost, quality, delivery, and innovation.
  • Drive supplier consolidation and vendor base optimization to improve efficiency.

3. Digital Procurement & Analytics

  • Use digital sourcing tools (SAP / S2P / PLM / e-RFQ / e-Auction platforms) for efficiency and transparency.
  • Support implementation of data-driven procurement and cost analytics dashboards.
  • Maintain accurate procurement data in ERP systems and support spend analysis initiatives.

4. Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams for supplier readiness in NPD and cost reduction projects.
  • Collaborate with finance and logistics for budgeting, payment planning, and inventory optimization.
  • Ensure alignment with company procurement policies and sustainability goals.

5. Continuous Improvement & Risk Mitigation

  • Proactively identify sourcing risks (supply disruption, price volatility, compliance issues) and develop mitigation plans.
  • Promote sustainable sourcing practices and compliance with EPR and environmental regulations.
  • Benchmark best practices in supplier management and introduce process improvements.

Job Requirements:

  • It is a Must to have the domain (product ) knowledge of lighting.
  • Bachelors degree in mechanical/electrical/ Electronic Engineering
  • Minimum 7-10 years experience in sourcing / procurement of Lighting.
  • Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and conversion cost
  • estimation.
  • Proficiency in BOM costing, supplier cost analysis, and negotiation strategies.
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel (Advanced), Power BI, and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English and Hindi.
  • Strong project management and multitasking abilities.
  • Willingness to travel extensively for supplier evaluation and audits.
