Head of Operations - Mechanical Engineering

As a Mechanical Engineer with 10 to 15 years of hands-on machine design & design engineering experience, you will be responsible for the following key responsibilities: - Prior shopfloor experience of maintaining and running factory tools, CNCs, etc., with experience in WIP inspection for quality control being a valuable skill to have. - Management experience of 5 to 10 years, including successfully managing teams of up to 15 people with a multi-layer reporting structure. - Execution of at least 1 machine design/product design project as a project lead, demonstrating your ability to pitch ideas, plan, budget, hire/interview, and execute projects effectively. - Familiarity with industrial methodologies & standards, Design Thinking, Kanban, Kaizen, Just in Time, and knowledge of quality control methodologies such as Six Sigma. - Direct client engagement experience for project work/delivery and handling contractors & vendors. Conference presentations, publications, and patents are considered advantageous. Your qualifications should include: - BE / BTech or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering. - Strong verbal and written technical communication & presentation skills. - Demonstrated leadership and coordination skills for engaging multi-disciplinary teams. - Strong project management and risk assessment skills. - Hands-on experience with software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Ansys - FEA/FEM, etc. - Experience in designing systems involving fields such as heat transfer & thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, kinematics & dynamics, machine design principles, strength of materials, and vibration control. - Basic knowledge of coding using C/Java/Python and expertise in assessing risk factors in a project, computing ROI, planning project timelines, creating Gantt charts, selecting tech stack, and building teams.
