Job Description

As the Head of Inside Sales in a freight brokerage, your role is crucial in leading and driving the inside sales function. Your primary responsibilities include: - Developing and executing strategies to achieve revenue, margin, and volume targets consistently. - Building, leading, and scaling the inside sales team by hiring, training, coaching, and setting goals. - Overseeing lead generation, qualification, and pipeline management for a strong flow of quality opportunities. - Driving proactive sales outreach through various methods like cold calling, prospecting, and nurturing leads. - Negotiating rates with shippers and carriers to ensure profitability and maintain long-term relationships. - Collaborating with operations, dispatch, and carrier management teams for seamless execution and compliance. - Tracking and analyzing key performance metrics to optimize sales processes and enhance visibility. - Defining and implementing processes and policies for pricing, carrier qualification, and customer credit. - Staying updated with market intelligence to evolve the inside sales strategy continuously. - Upholding high levels of customer satisfaction through timely responses and consistent service quality. Qualifications and Skills required for this role: - Bachelor's degree required; MBA or Master's degree is an advantage. - 5-10+ years of proven experience in inside sales or sales management within freight brokerage or U.S. logistics. - Strong knowledge of freight brokerage operations, including carrier sourcing, pricing, and negotiations. - Track record of achieving or surpassing sales targets with experience in scaling teams. - Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and influencing skills. - Strong communication, presentation, analytical, and data-driven forecasting abilities. - Hands-on experience with CRM systems; familiarity with TMS or other logistics tools is a plus. - Effective leadership skills with experience in coaching, mentoring, and motivating teams. - Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage conflicts and complex logistics challenges. - High energy, results-oriented, and adaptable to fast-paced environments.
