Head of Accounts

As the Head of Accounts, you will be responsible for leading the accounting team and overseeing the organization's financial operations. Your role will involve ensuring accurate bookkeeping, statutory compliance, internal controls, and timely financial reporting aligned with business goals. Key Responsibilities: - Finalization of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts as per applicable standards (IND AS / GAAP). - Ensure compliance with statutory requirements like TDS, GST, Income Tax, PF/ESI, and timely filing of returns. - Lead internal and statutory audits; ensure timely closure and rectification of audit observations. - Prepare and present MIS reports, cash flow statements, balance sheets, and P&L statements for management. - Monitor budgeting, forecasting, and cost control initiatives. - Implement and monitor internal financial controls and processes to prevent revenue leakage and financial mismanagement. - Coordinate with banks, auditors, consultants, and regulatory authorities. - Supervise and mentor the accounts team to enhance performance and adherence to company policies. - Lead ERP/accounting software implementation or improvements. - Maintain records of fixed assets, inventory accounting, and inter-branch reconciliations. Key Skills & Competencies: - Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation laws, and financial reporting. - Hands-on experience in Tally/ERP/SAP/Zoho or similar accounting systems. - Analytical thinking with excellent numerical accuracy. - Strong leadership and team management skills. - Excellent communication and reporting abilities. Preferred Qualifications: - Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred. - Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or multi-branch operations is an added advantage. - Familiarity with tea industry accounting (if applicable) would be preferred.
